Guru Nanak Dev University Teachers Association (hereafter, the
Association) is a statutory body of the University constituted as
per the provisions of chapter VII (pages 321-327) of volume IV
(2007) of the university calendar.
Aims and Objectives
The primary objective of the Association is ‘to secure for the
teaching
community their rightful status-professional, social and economic’.
As per
provisions of the calendar, the Association shall also strive for:
‘a)
improvement of professional standard, b) expansion of educational
opportunities and c) making education more relevant to the needs of
the
Indian society.’ Furthermore, it is provided that the Association
shall
establish contacts with other organizations with similar aims and
objectives
and also organize activities to attain the aforesaid aims. Last but
not the
least, the Association should strive to promote cordial
interpersonal
relationships amongst the members.
